Bring Eurex PRISMA into your portfolio workflow.
Cumulus9 implements Eurex PRISMA calculations for supported listed portfolios. Use exchange parameter files and a defined position set to assess margin, inspect its components and compare a proposed change with the current book.
Discuss your portfolioFrom portfolio to a decision
Step 1
Identify the portfolio
Confirm the supported products, account scope, contract identities and quantities. Preserve expiry, option type and strike details so the calculation represents the intended book.
Step 2
Align the parameters
Keep the business date, exchange parameter set and clearing currency with the calculation. Compare a baseline and proposed portfolio using the same inputs beyond the positions you intend to change.
Step 3
Inspect the result
Review portfolio margin and its components before comparing with a reference report. Separate changes in positions from changes in parameters or account treatment.
A portfolio calculation needs more than outright rates
Eurex PRISMA evaluates related positions within liquidation groups and splits. The grouping determines where offsets can apply. A list of individual contract requirements therefore answers a different question from a calculation of the portfolio held together.
- Confirm the products and account scope that belong in the comparison.
- Keep the reporting currency and calculation date consistent.
- Do not interpret analytical aggregation as a right to net separate accounts.
Use published inputs with calculation context
Eurex provides Transparency Enabler Files for external margin replication. These contain scenario prices, settlement prices, risk measures, aggregation rules and other model inputs. Cumulus9 uses the exchange parameter data in its native calculation workflow and returns component detail to support investigation.
Check the scope before connecting a new book
A methodology name does not establish support for every instrument or clearing arrangement. This workflow covers supported listed portfolios. Confirm the products and required result fields during integration; Eurex’s wider OTC, bond, repo and cross-margin services should not be assumed to be included.
Questions before you integrate
- Can I compare the margin before and after a proposed trade?
- Yes. Calculate the baseline book and a copy containing the proposed change on the same parameter basis. The difference describes that scenario’s incremental margin and can differ from the new trade’s standalone requirement.
- Is this the same service as Eurex Cloud PME?
- No. Cumulus9 provides its own implementation and portfolio workflow. Eurex Cloud PME is an exchange-provided service. Reference comparisons require aligned positions, dates, parameters and result scope; they do not establish exchange endorsement.
- Does Eurex PRISMA support imply ECC PRISMA support?
- No. ECC Prisma for Commodities is a separate clearing-house implementation with its own parameters, product mapping and migration timetable. See the ECC guide and confirm availability separately.
